How about a horse barn in post and beam construction? Hemlock timbers are a good start, especially in the horsey areas....they tend not to chew it as much (though mine do if they are bored). Douglas Fir is great for strength and larger spans, not to mention a beautiful choice. Do you want a working horse barn? How about a workshop that resembles a horse barn?
